Liten historia om oss

Det startade i 1977.....

As a child i went yearly with my father to visit the local dogshows in Leiden (Holland). I have whole my live admired dogs and i like most all breeds. It seems that dogs and dogsport is in my veines as my ancestors has been breeding and showing dogs long time ago. My family on mothers side the Smoorenburg line where one of the first in Holland with Kerry Blue terriers, West Highland White terriers and Wire Fox Terriers. My Grandfather liked hunting and he imported some Poltalloch terriers from UK just before they got named West Highland white terriers (picture) My Grandmothers sister bred and imported the first kerry Blue terriers they had a kennel in Sittard in Limburg NL.  The Wires where imported from the Duchess Kathleen of new Castle famous kennel of Notts My Grandfather lived in the east of holland in Winterswijk where he loved hunting and was a master in leather /skin. My Grandmother died young and it was her who was in charge of the wires and she was infact family with the duchess  Kathleen of  New castle, but she was the black sheep of the family as she felt i love of a non aristocrat man in Holland, so no titles for her.  For me this is very weird but very exciting that i admire terriers i found out alla bout the family history in 2007 and i understand where the love for terriers it comes from.i have been breeding Wire Fox Terriers and West Highland White terriers with passion and that i was handling topwinning kerry Bleu Terriers in Holland.

It started all with Airedale terriers and after with Wire Fox terriers.  West Highland White terriers and Scottish terriers,.My after school and weekend job was working in a scottish terrier kennel near my house it was Bernie Wolters-Hunter a scottish bor lady who lived in holland with her husband. She had many scotties and there i learned about grooming and a lot about the scottish terriers. It was bernie who found my kennel prefix Stonegarth and my prefix registered in 1978.

We have bred and owned more than 70 champions to date.  In Holland i was also handling dogs for other people and that was about 6-8 dogs every show, it was like professional handling. I do not know the total amount but must be 400 champions in terrierbreeds and 200 in other breeds in several groups. In Terriers i was also a grooming specialist , i had the best mentors i could get in Holland and UK.

30 or more champions i piloted where Border terriers, Smooth Fox terriers, Cairn terriers. Wire Fox terriers. 20 or more champions in Kerry Blue terriers,  Welsh terriers, Lakeland terriers, Norwich terriers, Irish terriers, Scottish terriers. I can not even remember every dog i handled. It was fun but the Dark side was that my own dogs came often in second place and i was a person who not could say no to people. I could have had more champions of my own instead showing for others.

Handling dogs was though a lot of fun also  from other breedgroups so many breeds i can hardly remember.

My most important mentors wher Herbert Atkinson- Fred Sills- Ernie Sharpe- Frans Heerkens Thijssen-Andrew Hunt-Frank Kellet. Lillian Lleton ( Olson)

Have been handling and grooming for the famous High Flyer kennel. Merthyr Kennel, Dumbarton kennel, Vd Telgthoeve kennel. Reeuwijk kennel. of the halfhouse kennel. Fra Joo's home kennel. Rough Dunes Kennel. Glamorgans kennel. Salicia's dream kennel My other mentor in scotties was Bernie Wolters-Hunter of Mac Kenzies Clan kennel. and many more
